We are the faith community of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Derry, New Hampshire, dedicated to continuing the mission of Jesus Christ in the Roman Catholic tradition. We proclaim the Good News, using our time, talent and treasure to reach the new, the wandering, the poor and the unloved. United in God, we are committed to growth in faith through worship, spirituality, outreach, education, and fellowship. Empowered by the Holy Spirit and nourished by Word and Eucharist, we seek a deeper, more personal relationship with Jesus Christ as we passionately share Christ's love with all people.

Fr. Bruce Czapla, Fr. John Bavaro and Fr. Roger Croteau will be available on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 7-8:30 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas for reconciliation. The seasons of Advent and Lent are special times of grace when we might come forward to seek God`s forgiveness and renew our relationship with him through the Sacrament of Penance.

The second Annual parish International Night will be held at the Aquinas Center on February 13th at 6:00 PM. Last year we enjoyed over 40 delicious ethnic dishes. We hope for more this year. This is the only fund raiser the Social Committee is hosting for the church. The ticket price is $10 for adults and $3.00 for children under 12.
However, since this is a fund raising event for the parish, feel free to offer more. Extra donations are always gratefully accepted.
Don`t Miss It! Enjoy

Did you know that when you sing you pray twice? Well, you do. The Saint Thomas Aquinas Adult Choir is looking for a few good men (and women) to join the group. There are no auditions or any requirement to read music. All that is required is a love of singing and working together as a group to enhance the liturgy. We sing at the 8:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday and practice from 6:45-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings in the choir loft. High school students are also welcome. If you are interested please see our choir director, Dave Gocklin after the 4:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. Masses on the weekend or email him at dgpg2004@comcast.net. We look forward to seeing you as we prepare for the Lenten Season.

There will be commissioning ceremony at each Mass on the weekend of February 13/14 for all the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. We hope you will be able to attend.

Located on the table in back of the church is a book with the current list of parishioners who are registered here at St. Thomas. If your name does not appear in the book it is because you did not update with the parish during our parish update last summer. If you wish to remain a registered parishioner you need to call the friary office at 432-5000.

Please be reminded of our weather cancellation policy. On weekdays if school is cancelled, so are all parish events except daily Mass. Please note: Street parking only. Saturday evening, Sunday and holy day obligation Masses will never be cancelled, but parishioners should use their discretion in regards to the risk involved in coming to church. Other services, such as funerals, baptisms and weddings will be held at the discretions of the families involved. Also, weekend ice and snow conditions wreak havoc on our Sunday collections, which makes it more difficult for us to meet our expenses. Please try to make up for any missed collections.

These Three?Dear Brothers and Sisters, last weekend members of the Finance Council spoke at all the Masses about the success of the First Annual Parish Appeal, and about taking a look at the amount of contributions coming in on a weekly basis. Of course another major consideration is volunteerism. We do need you to help in so many ways. And when the call goes out we hope and pray people will respond because it`s the only way we can make a lot of good happen. The sense of community is very much a part of our worship, evangelization and works of charity. By nature we are social beings and without some positive contact beyond our families our many aspects of life can become distorted. Besides, the good God wants us to accomplish may get put on hold or may not get done at all. So, the next time we ask for volunteers please consider jumping in and lending a hand. Altogether we`ll be the better for your participation and God will be so pleased to see His children helping one another. Let me finish by saying how grateful I am for all you do do! You`re awesome! God bless you.
Love, Fr. Bruce, ofm
